Summarize the purpose of your Genius Hour project in 140 characters.
We have come up with this 'good deeds' project. Have you ever been gone through a drive through only to find out that someone had paid for your meal? Or maybe you paid for a stranger's meal? It makes you smile, thinking that other people would spend their own money only to brighten your day, right? This simple act of kindness can really make someone's day. Well, Kallie and I devised a plan to have this kindness spread through our whole community. Our plan is to sell things in order to raise money to spread kindness. After we raise this money, we are going to distribute it around the community. For example, we might put $20 on a gas pump, or pay for someone's meal. Well distributing the money, we are also going to leave with a note saying something along these lines "Hello, if you are reading this card, that means that you have been received a random act of kindness! If you have the money, pass this act of kindness on. You have the potential to make someone's day. If not, please enjoy this gift, and we hope we made your day!
Explain the process of your Genius Hour project. Be reflective. Be contemplative. Explain and describe your journey. (No Less Than Three FULL Paragraphs.)
Kallie and I have planned to raise money (or use our own), in order to spread kindness throughout our community. We planned on making small cards explaining our project and reasoning. We would attach the card to anywhere between ten and twenty dollars. After this, we would put this in an easily accessible place with a rock for something heavy on top of it so it wouldn’t fly away.
Looking back, Kallie and I both wish we would have placed the money in a restaurant so we could see the receiver's reaction. We mainly placed the cards and money at gas stations. Placing the money somewhere where we could see the receiver would have assured us that they received the money.
Although we may not have impacted many people, we hope we impacted the few receivers who found our card and cash. Hopefully the “trickle” effect will take place and others will take place in our kindness project too! We know that we didn’t do much, but we hope that our kindness will put a spark in others’ kindness too.
The intention for Genius Hour is NOT only to learn, but ALSO to share your knowledge with others who can and will benefit from your learning. How did you share your learning? What do you hope the result might be? (No Less Than Two Full Paragraphs.)
Kallie and I both learned a lot from our project, but we also (hopefully) taught others about kindness too. We shared our learning by leaving a note with our money explaining the purpose of our project. Hopefully the note helps others understand why we were doing what we were doing. We hope others will fall into our path and also spread kindness.

If you could do anything different with your Genius Hour project what would you do differently and why? (No less than two full paragraphs.)

We mainly placed the cards and money at gas stations. Placing the money somewhere where we could see the receiver would have assured us that they received the money and possibly explained our project to them.
Another thing that Kallie and I would have done is that we would have had a bake sale to raise more money so that we could have given out more of our kindness cards. We wanted to have a bake sale but unfortunately we were both very busy and we did not really have time to bake. A bake sale would have really helped us raise more money and spread more kindness.
Reflect on what you did well during this Genius Hour process? Note your successes and accomplishments. (No less than two full paragraphs.)
Kallie and I both think that we did well at coming up with our genius hour idea. Our idea was unique and original. Compared to many other genius hour projects our idea was very different. We do not believe that anyone else in our grade had a genius hour like ours.
Both of us really enjoyed our genius hour project. We came up with a unique project that we both had fun with. Compared to others, our project was quite original and interesting. Kallie and I spent a lot of time coming up with our project idea.
